When a product comes in different specifications, you can use the multiple product specifications feature to set up distinct specifications and options for customers to choose from.
I. Introduction to Multiple Specifications
Before setting up the feature, we will clarify the difference between Specifications Name and Specification Values:
Specifications Name: These refer to the varying aspects of a product, such as color, size, place of origin, brand, etc. Currently, the AllValue system sets a maximum limit of three preset specifications per product.
Specification Values: These are the specific options under a given product specification. For example, for the specification of color, the values can be red, yellow, black, etc. There is no limit on the number of specification values, and you can add them freely.
Example: Apple AirPods case. It comes in 5 colors (black, pink, orange, yellow, pink) and 2 models (AirPods 2 and AirPods Pro). Here, color and model are the product specifications; black, pink, orange, yellow, pink are the specification values for the color specification; AirPods 2 and AirPods Pro are the specification values for the model specification.
II. Set Up Multiple Specifications
Go to the product specification editing page
Log in to the AllValue backend > Products > Product> Product Editing Page, and selet the “The product has different dimensions, colors, etc.” option on the page, and then click“Edit specification”
2.Set Specification Names
Customize the specification name in the name field, then fill in the specification values (i.e., the specification options mentioned above) in the bottom-right corner.
If you want to set two or three specifications, you can click Add new specification to proceed with setting the names and values for additional specifications, but the specification names cannot be duplicated.
3.Set the Display Type of Specification Options
Rectangular List: Displayed by option values on the storefront.
Color Switch: You can choose either single-color or dual-color options, which will be displayed as color blocks on the storefront.
Radio Button: Customers can make a selection by clicking the circle next to each option on the storefront.
Dropdown: Displayed in the form of dropdown options on the storefront.
Graphics: Displays both images and text for options. It is recommended to select this display mode when the specification is color.
When you enter two or three specifications, the corresponding combined SKU list will be automatically loaded at the bottom of the page, where you can fill in all the information of each SKU. For example, if an AirPods case comes in 5 colors and 2 models, the system will automatically generate a list with 10 option combinations.
4.Modify SKU Details
Click Edit to modify the information of an individual SKU.
Enter the SKU detail editing page to modify the price, inventory, weight, and other information of the SKU.
Price: Edit the selling price, original price, and cost price. The profit margin and profit will be calculated automatically by the system.
Inventory: Edit the SKU, barcode, and stock level.
Shipping: If it is a physical product, check this option and edit the product weight.
The displayed specifications can be sorted by dragging and dropping, allowing customers to select color or size first.
You can check multiple SKUs for batch editing to improve the efficiency of data entry and modification.
III. Issues with Display and Usage of Multiple Specifications
Main Image Display Issue for Multi-Specification Products
Under normal circumstances, when you upload a main image for a multi-specification product, you need to select the specification values for all specification attributes before the product image can be displayed as the main image. For example, in the figure, the main image will display as the product image only when you have selected the color, size, and gender. If you only select the color without choosing the other two specifications, the main image will not switch to the product image.
If the Graphics display type is used, the product's main image will switch to the image uploaded for the Image & Text type as long as the specification configured with this display type is selected—even if not all specifications have been chosen.
Single specification quick purchase
The single specification quick purchase feature allows customers to add a product to cart immediately upon selecting a single specification, eliminating the intermediate steps of popping up specification options and confirming the selection.
Activation Conditions: Applicable only on the light mobile version. It takes effect when the product has only one specification, and the specification display type is set to either Color Switch or Graphics.
Setup Path: Mobile-first store Theme Editor → Product Detail Page → Customization → Description → Open single specification quick purchase
