Tax-inclusive price of goods
Updated yesterday

By enabling tax-inclusive pricing, you can decide to "include taxes" in product pricing based on the region where the customers in the sales market are located. For example, customers in some countries/regions (such as Australia) include local Value Added Tax (VAT) in the product price. In other countries/regions (such as Canada), online store prices do not include taxes, but additional taxes are charged during the checkout process.

Enable tax-included price: Taxes are included in the prices of goods and shipping fees.

For example, if a merchant operates a store and enables the calculation of taxes based on the customer's country/region, the tax rate for store operation in region A is 10%, and the products are priced at $100 including tax. The sales situation is as follows:

  • When consumers purchase this product in region A (tax rate 10%), using the formula [ tax = (tax rate × discounted price)/(1 + tax rate) ], it can be calculated that (10% × 100)/(1 + 10%) = $9.09, the product part is $90.91, and the tax part is $9.09

  • If a consumer purchases this product in region B (with a tax rate of 13%), it can be calculated that (13% × 100)/(1 + 13%) = $11.5, with the product part being $88.5 and the tax part being $11.5

Tax-inclusive prices are commonly applicable in the following regions:

  • United Kingdom

  • Australia

  • New Zealand

  • European Union

  • Mexico

  • Israel

  • Norway

  • Switzerland

  • Singapore

  • China

  • Japan

Step

  1. In the AllValue backend, go to [Settings > Taxes].

  2. Select the country to set

  3. Click "Tax Included Price Settings" and enable "Include Sales Tax in Product Prices and Shipping Fees".

  4. Click Save

**Notes on enabling tax-included prices:

  1. Tax-free customers "who purchase" tax-included goods "will purchase at a non-tax-included price, and the included taxes will be reduced during settlement.

  2. Not applicable to countries/regions with large tax rate differences, as different tax rates will affect the cost price of goods. For pricing in multiple markets, multiple sites can be used. For details, please consult the online customer service.
